Industrial | Shield_Blade Flange Scan Measurement Project

The project of this 3D laser scanning belongs to industrial parts excavation tunneling equipment, flange of shield machine cutter.

The customer needed to customize a new shield cutter plate. Although there were ready-made drawings at the cutter plate, the flange needed to be installed underground and needed to match the height of the rest of the shield machine, and the existing drawings did not match the flange enough, and minor differences would make the cutter plate impossible to install. Therefore, new drawings need to be customized according to the actual situation, and the traditional measurement method is not only complicated but also difficult to accurately measure the exact fine hole position and size of the cutter plate method.

We use FARO robotic arm high precision 3D scanner to easily obtain the dimensional data of the tool flange and provide customers with accurate hole position and bore diameter.

After the scanning is completed, 3D reverse modeling is performed based on 3D point cloud data, 2D drawings and CAD drawings are exported, and finally our company provides customers with multi-software compatible 3D models and CAD drawings.

In just three working days, we completed all the external and internal work and submitted a satisfactory answer to the client.
